Old-Fashioned Lye Soap

This white unscented soap is unbelievably mild, so grandma's harsh bars are only a memory. Old-timers here in the Ozarks love it as a shampoo, as a stain remover, for washing clothes (use the blender with water to make it liquid). Some even claim that leaving the lather on after exposure to poison ivy is a sure cure. Great for those folks who are allergic to scents. Animal fat is used.
